A Center of Excellence is a medical facility with a dedicated ILD program using a multidisciplinary approach to care. These centers are often located in or near a large city and are where you will find experts who specialize in interstitial lung disease care. If at all possible, patients should go to one of the centers to get an accurate diagnosis.
If you do not live near a Center of Excellence, many of these clinics can collaborate with your local pulmonologist to provide guidance and help coordinate your care. This partnership ensures you receive expert-driven treatment, even if you cannot visit the center in person.
